定义

德国康德的哲学用语。与“彼岸性”相对。此岸性指人的认识限于现象界此岸、不能认识超出人的认识的此岸的自在之物的特性。康德认为事物的本体和现象之间存在一条不可逾越的鸿沟，自在之物离开人们的意识而独立存在着。自在之物刺激人们的感官而产生经验材料，并由人的主观认识能力加上先天形式后，成为人们所认识的现象界。人的认识仅限于现象界，具有此岸性；人对现象界之外的彼岸的自在之物完全不能认识，因而自在之物具有彼岸性（彭漪涟，2010：135）。康德认为，如果人的认识能力非要超出现象，去认识自在之物，这是绝对不可能的（彭克宏，1989：39）。因为在认识过程中，经过人们先天的认识形式的加工，自在之物的本来面目会被掩盖，因而人们把握到的只是经过主体再加工以后建立起来的现象，并非自在之物的本来面目（金炳华等，2007：1648）。康德哲学关于此岸性与彼岸性的理论，把自在之物与现象界截然分割开来，显示了康德的二元论观点与不可知理论。在马克思主义看来，客体与主体之间的截然的鸿沟并不存在。现象是本质的表现，本质通过现象来表现，人们可以透过现象掌握事物的本质（彭克宏，1989：39）。马克思在《关于费尔巴哈的提纲》等著作中借用“此岸性”一词，说明思维能透过事物的现象认识其本质，客观世界不存在不可认识的“自在之物”（卢之超，1993：82）。人们通过实践活动，能够逐渐提高对事物本质的认识，从现象逐渐深达到本质，因而，此岸性与彼岸性的绝对分割是能够消除的（彭漪涟，2010：135）。
