定义

重点论是指在研究复杂事物的发展过程时，要着重地把握它的主要矛盾；在研究某一种矛盾时，要着重地把握它的主要矛盾方面。列宁在《苏维埃政权的当前任务》中已明确提出：“善于从发展路线或链条中找出最重要的环节。”毛泽东把主要矛盾和矛盾主要方面的原理运用到实际工作中，形成了矛盾分析方法的重点论。该观点主要集中在毛泽东的《矛盾论》中。毛泽东认为，重点论要求在各种事物进行分析时，首先必须抓住它的主要矛盾和矛盾的主要方面起中主导作用和决定事物性质。因为任何事物和现象都包含着矛盾，在一对以上的矛盾结合体中，必有一对是主要矛盾，在一对矛盾的对立双方中，必有一方是矛盾的主要方面，事物的性质即由事物的主要矛盾和矛盾的主要方面所决定。“重点论和两点论是辩证的统一。脱离重点论的两点论，就会变成均衡论;脱离两点沦的重点论，就会变成一点论”（金炳华，2003：811）。
