也称“商品二重性”。商品固有的使用价值和价值的两种属性。商品的使用价值是商品能够满足人们某种需要的效用，它取决于商品体的自然性质，是商品的目然属性。商品的价值就是凝结在商品中的一般人类劳动，或抽象劳动。价值是商品的社会属性。一切商品，作为使用价值，它们在质的方面是不同的，但作为价值，它们在质的方面却是相同的（刘佩弦，1988：682-683）。
　商品具有使用价值和价值，是由生产商品的劳动二重性决定的。具体劳动创造使用价值，抽象劳动形成价值。商品二因素是对立统一的。商品价值的存在要以使用价值为前提，一个物品必须具有使用价值才能使耗费在商品生产上的劳动被社会所承认，形成为价值。但二者之间又具有相互对立的一面，作为商品生产者不能同时兼有商品的使用价值和价值，要占有商品的价值就须让渡它的使用价值。商品使用价值和价值互相排斥，构成商品的内在矛盾，只有通过商品交换，生产者实现商品价值，购买者获得了商品的使用价值，商品二因素的矛盾才能最终解决（王德胜，1990：236-237）。
