(三百六十行,) 行行出狀元。 Lit ([In all of the] three hundred and sixty professions,) each trade produces [its own] “Number one Scholar.” Fig (1) Every profession produces its own leading authority. Every trade has its master(s). (2) If one works hard and perfects one's skill, one may become an expert in one's field, whatever it may be.
