定义

简称中心柱，敦煌北朝及隋唐石窟中的四方形柱。位于纵向矩形石窟的后部中心，故名。石窟中凡有此柱的，称中心塔柱窟或中心柱窟，是敦煌早期石窟的典型窟形。

It is the quadrate pillar found in grottoes built in the Northern Dynasties, the Sui and the Tang dynasties, also called central pillar for short. The pillar is so named because it is in the center of the back part of a longitudinal rectangle grotto. Any grotto with such a central pillar is called a central stupa grotto or a central pillar grotto, which is the typical structure of the early grottoes in Dunhuang.
