定义
断定一个事物情况是另一事物情况的充分必要条件假言命题。充分必要条件假言命题的命题形式是：“如果p则q，并且，只有p才q。”也可以表示为：“p当且仅当q。”用数理逻辑符号则可表示为：(p→q)∧(p→q)，或简化为：p≡q。例如：“三角形的三边相等，当且仅当它的三个内角相等。”又如：“人不犯我，我不犯人；人若犯我，我必犯人。”都是充分必要条件假言命题。充分必要条件假言命题的真假，取决于其前件是否确实是其后件的充分必要条件。如果是，它就是真的；如果不是，它就是假的。充分必要条件假言命题，只有当其前件后件同真或同假时，它是真的，在其余情况下，则它是假的。前件与后件具有等值关系，这是充分必要条件假言命题的基本逻辑特征（金炳华，冯契，2001：169）。
