1.柔，跟“硬”相反 soft, antonym of "yìng (stiff)" ( comb. 柔- róu- soft)：绸子比布～ Chóuzi bǐ bù ruǎn. Silk is softer than cloth.
2.柔和 soft; gentle：～风 ruǎnfēng light air/ ～语 ruǎnyǔ soft words
