| 释义 | ㄘㄢ家蚕，又叫“桑蚕”。昆虫，吃桑叶长大，蜕(tuì)皮时不食不动，俗叫“眠”。蚕普通经过四眠就吐丝做茧，蚕在茧里变成蛹，蛹变成蚕蛾。蚕吐的丝可织绸缎。另有“柞(zuò)蚕”，也叫“野蚕”，吃柞树的叶子。柞蚕的丝可织茧绸 silkworm, also called 'mulberry silkworm', living on mulberry leaves; when casting off its skin, neither eating nor moving, entering a state of 'sleep'; after four 'sleeps', spinning silk to form a cocoon in which the silkworm first changes into a pupa, and then into a silk moth; the silk can be used in making silks and satins. There is an other kind of silkworm called tussah an or wild silkworm; tussah silk is used in making pongee. |
