Pottery Bowl

莫高窟出土遗物。画工用具，共十七件。口径6至10厘米，底径4至5厘米，高2至4厘米，泥质灰陶，局部有轮纹修整痕迹。多数碗背有浓墨色油渍痕，或有土红、朱红、石绿等颜色。这些碗当为唐代画工照明灯碗和绘画用的色碟。

It is an unearthed relic found in Mogao Grottoes and was a bowl used by the painters. There are 17 pottery bowls in total. The have mouths of 6-10 cm, bases of 4-5 cm and are 2-4 cm in height. Their color is muddy gray and some have small partial wheel patterns. The backs of most bowls have dark oil stains of earth red, vermilion, malachite green and other colors. These bowls would be used as palettes by painters from the Tang Dynasty.
