定义

道德原则，一定社会或阶级用以调整人们之间利益关系的根本指导原则，是对一定社会或阶级的道德关系的本质概括，最集中地反映了社会经济关系和阶级利益的根本要求，表现了道德的社会本质和人们行为的基本方向。从微观角度看，道德原则是对“我应当做什么”这一问题的回答，从宏观角度看，道德原则又是对人类的行为和生活方式提出的规范与期望。道德原则是规范的根据、是对规范的证明、是对规范合理性的判断。它必须满足两个条件：一是道德原则对所有道德规范都具有判断力，二是在任何情况下，道德原则对道德规范的判断力都是有效的。道德原则在一定意义上是从行为上准确判定一定道德所属类型的根本标志，并从行为总体上表达所属道德类型历史的、阶级的本质，是一定社会经济关系的根本性质及其阶级的根本利益在道德意识上的集中反映。由此可见，道德原则是道德理论体系的核心或硬核，在道德体系、道德传统中，它处于主导地位，其变化必然引起道德理论及其道德行为的革命（谢少波，1999：28）。在中国，通常认为社会主义、共产主义道德体系中的道德原则是集体主义。
