定义

指僧人于库内专门修禅，为敦煌石窟的佛教功能与常年佛事活动之一。其禅师有时简称“窟禅”，即“住窟禅师”。

It is the Buddhist function of the grottoes and also one of the Buddhist activities in the grottoes in Dunhuang, referring to the specialized Buddhist practice undertaken in the grottoes by the monks. The Zen master is “the master living in the grotto” and sometimes is called “grotto Zen” for short.
