Story of Wang Zhaojun

唐代变文。原卷残缺，仅存下卷和上卷的一部分。据内容拟题。演唱王昭君故事。谓昭君入番后，怨恨不已，思乡成病，抑郁而死。单于按番礼葬昭君，坟号青冢。汉哀帝遣使祭吊。变文讲单于厚待昭君，并未言及再嫁后单于及生子之事。

A bianwen text from the Tang Dynasty. The manuscript is incomplete, with only parts of two volumes left, and the name of the script is based on the story of Wang Zhaojun. In the story, after arriving in the Xiongnu regions far away from her homeland, Wang Zhaojun deeply regrets her decision to marry Chanyu (king of the Xiongnu) and is so homesick she eventually dies. Chanyu holds a funeral for her according to local custom and her tomb is later called Qingzhong (Green Tomb) since it is surrounded by green mountains. After her death, Emperor Ai of the Han Dynasty sends an envoy to mourn for her. According to the story, Chanyu Huhanye treats Zhaojun kindly and generously when she is alive, and the story does not mention her remarriage to the next Chanyu or her subsequent children after remarriage.
