定义

演绎法，是指人们以一定的反映客观规律的理论认识为依据，从服从该认识的已知部分推知事物的未知部分的思维方法，是由一般原理到特殊对象的认识方法。主要特征包括：演绎法的前提的一般性知识和结论的个别性知识之间具有必然的联系，结论蕴含在前提中；演绎法的结论是否正确，既取决于作为出发点的一般性知识是否正确反映客观事物的本质，又取决于前提和结论之间联系形式的正确与否；演绎法的思维运动方向是由一般到个别，由抽象到具体。演绎法的产生和发展是一个历史的过程，最初是作为数学方法的概括随着数学、几何学的发展而产生和发展起来的。古希腊哲学家亚里士多德是主张有组织地进行演绎研究的第一人，他在总结和概括当时科学思维方法特别是数学方法的基础上，第一次系统地探讨和制定了以三段论法为主要内容的演绎方法。其后英国物理学家牛顿又提出了假设演绎法，作为建立科学理论所必须采取的一种程序。到19世纪末20世纪初，演绎法越来越成为构造科学理论、组织科学知识的一种重要逻辑原则和逻辑方法，在数学、物理学、生物学、语言学等学科中得到了广泛的运用。作为一种思维方法的演绎法与作为一种推理形式的演绎推理是两个基本一致的范畴，二者都涉及一般与个别或特殊这对范畴，都表现着一般向个别或特殊的思维的推演和运动，有时互作别名。但严格说来两者并非完全同一，“演绎推理侧重的是这一推演或运动过程中的推理形式即逻辑结构，而演绎法则侧重于这一推演或运动过程中所主要体现和运用的思维方法”（金炳华，2003：574）。此外，与演绎法相对的另一种思维方法是归纳法，演绎法与归纳法的关系是既相互对立又相互联系、不可分割，演绎不是万能的，不是唯一正确的科学方法，归纳法和演绎法在形成科学理论中具有同等重要的作用，二者是互相依赖、互相渗透的。演绎法作为一种认识事物、进行科学研究的的思维方法，是逻辑证明的重要工具和作出科学预见的手段，对于理解事物、判断事理、解决矛盾具有重要意义。
