佛教经典，谓释迦牟尼派遣目犍连去迦毗罗卫，要让儿子罗睺罗出家。其妻耶输陀罗起初不肯，后经化人指点，让罗睺罗与五十释迦弟子一齐出家。出家后，罗睺罗耽于游戏，不能安心修道。后释迦借为波斯匿王说法的机会劝谕罗睺罗。

A Buddhist classic about a story that Sakyamuni sent Sakyamunisent Mahamaudgalyayana to the Kapilavastu for persuading Rahula, son of Buddha, to adopt the monastic life. Yashodhara, wife of Sakyamuni, objected at first, enlightened by a deva and finally gave her consent to her son’s becoming a monk along with the fifty Sakya disciples. Rahula was addicted into playing and had no mind on practicing after leaving home, so Sakyamuni took the chance of preaching to Prasenajit (king of Koshala and patron of Shakyamuni) and persuaded Rahula.
