佛教经典，谓佛前生为波罗奈国王之子，名慕魄，生年十三岁，从不开口讲话。国王召相师占之。相师说此子系恶人，不可畜养，当活埋之。国王遣人活埋慕魄，届时慕魄开口说话，一国皆惊。国王迎太子归国继位，太子斥后出家修道，终于成佛。

A Buddhist classic describing a story that Mupo,crown prince of Benares Kingdom and former life of the Buddha, who, having never spoken a word in the first 13 years of his life, was divined as an ominous person by a physiognomist at the call of the king. The physiognomist suggested that the Prince should be buried alive instead of being raised. So Mupo was buried but he uttered to the surprise of the people. Knowing this, the king welcomed the prince for succession, but was refused. Mupo left home, practiced Buddhism, and became Buddha.
