1.(-子 -zi)珍珠，就是真珠，淡水里的三角帆蚌和海水里的马氏珍珠贝等因沙粒窜入壳内，受到刺激而分泌真珠质，逐层包起来形成的圆粒，有光泽，可入药，又可做装饰品 pearl, a small, hard lustrous, almost spherical deposit of secretion of calcium carbonate around a small solid irritant (e.g. a grain of sand) which finds its way into the shells of freshwater triangular molluscs or seawater Mashi pearl oyster. It can be used as medicine or ornament：～宝 zhūbǎo pearls and jewels/ 夜明～ yèmíngzhū night-luminescent pearl
