卤（鹵、滷）lǔ

1.制盐时剩下的黑色汁液，是氯化镁、硫酸镁、溴化镁及氯化钠的混合物，味苦有毒，供制豆腐用。也叫“苦汁”或“盐卤” bittern, the bitter water solution of salts, a bitter-tasting and poisonous mixture of magnesium chloride, magnesium sulphate, magnesium bromide, and sodium chloride, which remains after sodium chloride has crystallized out of a brine; also called "kǔzhī" or "yánlǔ" ［卤素 -sù］化学中统称氟、氯、溴、碘、砹等五种元素 halogen, general terms for the following the five elements,eg.fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, and astatine
2.浓汁 a thick concentrate：茶～ chálǔ strong tea/ 打～面 dǎlǔmiàn noodles served with the thick soup mixed with gravy,meat, meat balls,vegetables,any other delicious foods,etc.
