Jiǔ féng zhījǐ qiān zhōng shǎo; huàbùtóujī, bàn jù duō.*

酒逢知己千盅少; 話不投機, 半句多。

Lit [When sharing] liquor [among] close friends, a thousand cups are too few, [but when people] talk at cross purposes, a half a sentence [can be too] much.
