Zhǎn cǎo bù chúgēn, chūnfēng chuī yòu shēng.*

斬草不除根, 春風吹又生。

Lit [When] cutting weeds, [if one does] not dig up the roots, [when] spring comes, [the weeds will] sprout again.

Fig Stamp out the source of trouble completely or you will be sorry later.
