俗之观士者,见其威仪屑屑,好行细洁,乃谓英彦。士有大趣不修容仪,不惜小检,而谓之弃人。· Ordinary folk tend to judge an intellectual in such a way that they will call him a real genius if he bothers greatly about his appearance and pays much attention to trivial matters; and they will call him useless if he solely aspires to great things,not caring about his appearance nor trivial things.
