定义

非人类中心主义也称非人类中心论或反人类中心主义（吴建平，2011：51）。非人类中心主义，顾名思义，即不再以人类为中心，而是强调伦理关怀的范围应该从人类社会逐渐扩展到动物、植物、所有生命的存在物以及生态系统，认为非人存在物与人拥有平等的权利或地位。这一发展过程首先从动物开始。动物解放和动物权利论者认为，动物具有与人相似的感受苦乐的能力，所以应该将自由、平等和博爱的原则由人推广到动物身上（曹孟勤等，2014：343）。非人类中心主义是环境伦理学最新发展的领域，其本身又有不同的代表人物、不同的思想、学说和流派。其中，在关于保护动物的非人类中心主义思潮中，生物中心主义以其崇尚生命，建立人与其他生物的平等和谐关系的主张，而成为环境伦理学的一个重要学说和非人类中心主义的一个重要学派。而其中又以泰勒的生物中心主义体系最具代表性（于冰沁等，2014：133）。非人类中心主义与人类中心主义相对而言。关于人类中心主义和非人类中心主义的争论，绵延多年。当今世界，环境保护早已不仅仅是一个自然问题，自然也不再是自然本身，不再是远离社会矛盾的、独立的物质世界，它的政治化不可避免。生态环境问题已经进入到现代政治的核心地带，它的绿色政治气息，也越来越浓厚。有人指出，绿色和平组织保护生态环境的初衷，无疑值得支持，但是，他们宣扬的其实是一种原始的生态保护观，这种生态观，有其意识形态渊源（非人类中心主义.via：http://baike.baidu.com/item/%E9%9D%9E%E4%BA%BA%E7%B1%BB%E4%B8%AD%E5%BF%83%E4%B8%BB%E4%B9%89）。
