寺院中悬挂大钟供僧徒进行祷祝的建筑。位置与经藏相对称，壁画中钟楼最早见于盛唐，多为二层台或楼阁式建筑，平面呈方形、六边形或圆形。

Bell Tower Illustration: In a temple, directly opposite the sutra collection pavilion, a bell tower is situated where a huge bell hangs to inform the monks of prayer times. In the Dunhuang murals, the earliest depiction of a bell tower was made in the High Tang period. Most of the bell towers are drawn as two-story structures or pavilions on a rectangular, hexagonal, or round plan.
