石窟开凿的发起人与组织者，即一座洞窟的主人、所有者，有僧尼、官宦、贵族、平民百姓等。

It refers to the sponsor and organizer when a grotto was constructed, namely, the host or the owner of the grotto. Such a person could be a monk, a nun, a government official, an aristocrat, or a common man.
