定义

生产，亦称“社会生产”（金炳华，冯契，2001：1294）。生产是人民结成一定的生产关系，利用生产工具改造自然，创造物质资料的过程（许征帆，1987：254）。生产是人类最基本的实践活动，是人类社会存在和发展的基础和前提（王国炎等，1993：126）。生产有广义与狭义之分。广义的生产指人类从事创造社会财富的活动和过程，包括物质财富、精神财富和人自身的生产。物质资料生产、精神生产和人自身的生产三者相关联系、相互制约。物质资料的生产决定着精神生产的性质和内容，制约着人自身生产的社会组织形式的结构和性质。人自身生产是人类历史的首要前提，从这个意义上说，它也是物质资料生产和精神生产的基础。精神生产对物质资料生产和人自身生产也具有重大的反作用（金炳华，2003：302）。狭义的生产指人类创造物质财富的活动和过程，即物质生产（金炳华，冯契，2001：1294）。物质资料的生产是人类本身及其社会存在和发展的基础，它提供人们吃、穿、住、用、行等需要的物质资料（金炳华，2003：302）。恩格斯说：“根据唯物主义观点，历史中的决定性因素，归根结蒂是直接生活的生产和再生产。”（马克思等，1995：2）物质资料生产包括生产力和生产关系两个方面。人们在生产中会结成生产关系。生产力决定生产关系，生产关系反作用于生产力。劳动者和生产资料是生产中人的因素和物的因素。生产资料（包括劳动资料和劳动对象）是生产过程的物质基础，而劳动者是生产过程的主导的决定的因素（卢之超，1993：725）。生产是物质资料生产和生产关系生产的统一（冯契，2001：1294）。生产的性质由生产资料所有制的性质决定。
