The Nirmanakaya of the Buddha (huafo), one of the Trikayas (three kayas or bodies of a Buddha), refers to a Buddha’s transformation or manifestation in a human body. In Mogao Cave 328 constructed during the Tang Dynasty, fragments of seven relief Nirmanakaya statues can be seen on the halo pattern behind the figure of the Buddha.
