定义

创新理论可追溯到1912美国哈佛大学教授熊彼特的《经济发展概论》，是其用以解释资本主义经济发展和周期的理论。熊彼特认为，创新是把一种新的生产要素和生产条件的‘新结合’引入生产体系。他认为，资本主义经济打破旧的均衡而又实现新的均衡主要来自内部力量，其中最重要的就是创新，正是创新引起经济增长和发展。熊彼特在由创新波动引起的繁荣和衰退交替出现的“纯模式”的基础上，提出了“第二次浪潮”的概念，即创新浪潮的后续反应，其特点是需求、物价和投资膨胀，投机行为急剧增加，并导致失误和过度投资。由此说明了“纯模式”和资本主义实际经济周期的“四阶段模式”（繁荣、衰退、萧条、复苏）之间的内在联系。熊彼特关于创新的基本观点中，最基础的一点即创新是生产过程中内生的。他认为经济生活中的创新和发展并非从外部强加而来的，而是从内部自行发生的变化。这实际上强调了创新中应用的本源驱动和核心地位。熊彼特独具特色的创新理论奠定了其在经济思想发展史研究领域的独特地位，也成为他经济思想发展史研究的主要成就（创新理论.via：http://baike.baidu.com/link?url=9cZruma8ODi_zv7j9CSpN7jtfwnuuCLjKLotlhCsttgwSFXNVkHQPtVGbgzqT78iQEubx0R3NOvDGHivClVgQq）。
