唐代乐器，出现在第217窟(盛唐)北壁自鸣乐中，六弦、六轴，音箱圆形，琴杆略长，音孔圆状，彩绘为长条图案，与琵琶捍拨近似。因其具有阮咸特征，故称六弦阮咸，是由阮咸发展而来的乐器。

A musical instrument of the Tang Dynasty. The image of it is found among the self-playing musical instruments on the north wall of Cave No.217 (flourishing Tang Dynasty). It has six strings and six tuning pegs. The sound box is round and the neck is relatively long with round sound holes and colored long patterns. It is similar to the shape of Pipa, a plucked string instrument. As it is a variation of Ruan Xian, it is same with Ruan Xian in its characteristics. This is why it is so named.
