定义

普遍代换说是俄国亚历山大罗维奇·波格丹诺夫的唯心主义学说。亚历山大罗维奇·波格丹诺夫是马林诺夫斯基的笔名。在《经验一元论》中波格丹诺夫提出了这种“普遍代换说”，他认为物理的东西和心里的东西是同一的，物理的东西是心理的东西的代换，心理的东西（即意识、表象、感觉等等）是直接存在的东西，而物理的东西是从其中引出来的，这只是唯心主义的代换的一种提法而已。波格丹诺夫反对社会意识反映存在的说法，主张可以用社会意识去替换社会存在。他认为心里的东西可以代替物理的东西，但物理的东西不能代换心理的东西，因为心理现象是“直接的复合”，而物理现象是这种“直接的复合”的反映（陈元晖，1963：29）。列宁批评这完全是胡说的“复合”，它只能是推论出灵魂不灭或神的观念，为信仰主义开拓地盘。这种代换说，实质上是说自然界是可以由精神派生的，而精神是不能从物质中派生出来的。用绝对概念、普遍精神、世界意志、心理的东西对物理的东西的“普遍代换”等等抽象概念“代换”整个物理自然界。正如列宁所说，“唯心主义哲学家总是想方设法改变神这个名称，使它更抽象，更模糊，同时（为了显得更真实）更接近于“心理的东西”，如“直接的复合”、无须证明的直接存在的东西。绝对观念，普遍精神，世界意志，心理的东西对物理的东西的“普遍代换”，——这些都是同一个观念，只是说法不同而已。任何人都知道，而且自然科学也在研究，观念、精神、意志、心理的东西是进行正常活动的人脑的机能；把这种机能同按一定方式组成的物质分开，把这种机能变为普遍的抽象概念，用这个抽象概念“代换”整个物理自然界，这是哲学唯心主义的妄想，这是对自然科学的嘲弄”（列宁，1988：239-240）。
