Bronze Horn

定义

唇簧气鸣乐器。号角用铜制故称。也称“铜号”、“吹金”、“铜号角”、“铜喇叭”，音色高昂、嘹亮。形态分两类：一种仿牛角，体弯；另一种直，作长锥筒形。古代宫廷仪仗乐盛用。唐代十部伎中，仅用于高昌伎。

A bronze horn is an aerophone using embouchure to produce sound. It is also called “copper horn”, “metal trumpet”, “bronze bugle”, and “bronze trumpet.” It produces a high, bright sound. The horn can be separated into two types. One type is an imitation of an ox horn, with a curved body; the other type is straight, shaped like a conical tube or barrel. The instrument was commonly played during court ceremonies in ancient China. In the “Ten Books of Music” performances during the Tang Dynasty, the bronze horn was the only one used by Gaochang musicians.
