Sutra on Contemplation of Maitreya Bodhisattva's Ascent to Tuṣita Heaven

佛教经典，叙述佛说弥勒将于十二年后命终，生于兜率天上，为一生补处菩萨。如有人作佛形象，称弥勒名，香花供养，礼拜系念，命终之时将有弥勒来迎，生兜率天上。

This sutra records the Buddha's claim that the life of Maitreya (the future incarnation of Buddha)will end after twelve years, and then he will ascend to Tuṣita (heaven) and become Eka-jāti-prati-baddha, the Bodhisattva who is to be the next Buddha to exist in this world. If one makes an image of the Buddha, names it Maitreya, offers it flowers and incense, and concentrates his mind on worship, then at the time when his life comes to an end, he will be welcomed by Maitreya and will ascend to the heaven Tuṣita.
