1.开始，第一 first; primary ( comb. -始 -shǐ beginning)：～旦 Yuándàn New Year's Day/ ～月 yuányuè January/ ～年 yuánnián the first year of an era or of the reign of an emperor ［元素 -sù］在化学上，具有相同核电荷数的同一类原子的总称。现在已知的元素有 109 种 element, (of chemistry) any of the 109 or more substances that consist of atoms of the same kind［元音 -yīn］发音的时候，从肺里出来的气使声带颤动，在口腔的通路上不受阻碍而发出的声音，也叫“母音”。拼音字母 ɑ， o， u等都是元音 vowel, any one of the human speech sounds in which the breath is let out without any stop or any closing of the air passage in the mouth or throat that can be heard, also called mǔyīn. In 1206, the Mongolian chieftain proclaimed himself to be the emperor Chéngjísīhán, and in 1271 changed、the title of his reigning dynasty into Yuan, and later in 1279, he destroyed the Southern Song Dynasty.
