1.骡、马等因为害怕狂奔起来不受控制 (of horses, mules, etc.) shy; stampede：马～了 Mǎ jīng le. The horse shied./ ～了车 jīngle chē The horse (or mule, etc.) pulling the cart was stampeded.
2.害怕，精神受了刺激突然不安 startle; be frightened：受～ shòujīng be frightened; be startled/ 吃～ chījīng be startled; be shocked/ ～心动魄 jīngxīn-dòngpò soul-stirring; profoundly affecting/ 十分～慌 shífēn jīnghuāng greatly alarmed; panic-stricken
3.出人意料的感觉 surprise：～喜 jīngxǐ pleasantly surprised
4.惊动 shock; alarm：打草～蛇 dǎcǎo-jīngshé beat the grass and startle the snake; act rashly and alert the enemy ［惊风 -fēng］有痉挛症状的小儿病，通常分急性、慢性两种。也省称“惊” infantile convulsion, an illness, either chronic or acute, which causes the infant to move suddenly and unnaturally; also simplified as “惊” ［惊动 -dòng］扰乱影响（他人） alarm; disturb (others) |
