1.鸟名，通称“野鸡”。雄的羽毛很美，尾长。雌的淡黄褐色，尾较短。善走，不能久飞。肉可以吃，羽毛可做装饰品 pheasant, popularly called "yějī", the male of which is brightly coloured and has a long tail but the female is light brown with a shorter tail. It is good at walking but cannot fly for long. Its meat is edible and plumage used for decoration.
