亦称“全人类的解放”，是马克思主义所揭示的人和人类社会的理想目标和共产主义革命的根本任务。马克思在1843年《论犹太人问题》中首次提出（金炳华，2003：119）。伴随着马克思思想的不断深化，实现人的解放这一理想的路径不断改变，论证这一问题的理论深度不断推进，但人的解放的价值理想始终是马克思哲学思想的灵魂。马克思指出，政治解放并非人类解放，它只意味着国家取消宗教的特权和宣布每个人都是平等的公民，“在这个社会中，人作为私人进行活动，把别人看作工具，把自己也降为工具，成为外力随意摆布的玩物”（马克思等，1960：428）。“只有当现实的个人同时也是抽象的公民，并且作为个人，在自己的经验生活、自己的个人劳动、自己的个人关系中间成为类存在物的时候，只有当人认识到自己的原有力量并把这种力量组织成社会力量因而不再把社会力量当作政治力量跟自己分开的时候，只有到了那个时候，人类解放才能完成”（马克思等，1960：443）。在稍后的一些著作中马克思从各个方面深化了这一基本概念。《共产党宣言》是共产主义革命和实现人类解放的科学纲领。马克思和恩格斯依据科学的唯物史观，证明人类解放是共产主义的根本目的和无产阶级革命的最高任务，是人类社会从低级到高级发展的必然结果。人类解放的可能性及程度，可能会受到社会发展状况、具体的历史条件的制约。马克思认为，只有在世界范围内推翻以雇佣劳动为基础的资本主义所有制，经过社会主义社会，进而过渡到共产主义社会才能实现全人类的彻底解放。深入探究马克思主义人类解放理论，既是现实历史实践激发的理论需要，也是我们这个时代哲学的重要主题之一。马克思人类解放理论提供的不是一种现成的、唯一的、固定的实践模式，而是在历史发展趋势中的必然规律与前进方向（刘同昉，《中国社会科学报》2015年8月27日：第6版）。在当今语境下，要深度挖掘人类解放的深层内涵，使马克思人类解放精神在探索自由解放的实践中焕发，引领人类崇高解放事业走向光明之境，彰显马克思人类解放理论的不泯之光。
