Zoroastrianism

古代中国人对传入中国的琐罗亚斯德教（Zoroastrianism）的称呼。该教奉《阿维斯陀经》(Avesta)为根本经典。

The term refers to one of the oldest extant religions, which exalts Ahura Mazda, a deity of wisdom, as its supreme being. Its prophet was Zoroaster, or Zarathustra, a native of ancient Persia who lived sometime between 1500 to 522 BCE. Ancient Chinese people called Zoroastrianism Aojiao. This religion regards Avesta as its fundamental classic, of which only a fragment of its original texts survive.
