The Story of Jetavana

唐代话本。故事讲述了舍卫国大臣须达闻佛法后开悟，以黄金铺地买得祗陀太子园林，释迦谴弟子舍利佛同往相助。外道闻讯大恚，求与舍利佛斗法，后被舍利佛降服。

It is a huaben story from the Tang Dynasty. According to the story, Sudatta, a senior official in Sravasti, is enlightened by the Buddha’s teachings and purchases the Jetavana monastery for the Buddha from Prince Jeta, on the condition that Sudatta will cover the ground in gold. While Sudatta is laying pieces of gold to cover the ground, the Buddha dispatches his disciple Sariputra to assist him. Meanwhile, some believers of other religions become jealous and they challenge Sariputra to compete with them. In the end, they are defeated and then submit to Sariputra.
