定义

不可逆是物理学哲学、复杂性科学和复杂性科学哲学等研究中的常用概念（郭元林，2014：19）。它标志自然过程方向性的概念，与可逆相对，指事物不会自发地逆转并恢复到原来状态。不可逆标志事物变化过程是单向的，从A状态到B状态，无法实现从B到A。不可逆是复杂世界的本质属性，因而具有普遍性。自然界中的不可逆过程却随处可见，如人们在时间中不能回到过去，花瓶打碎无法再复原等。在自然科学中，“可逆与不可逆”这对术语可追溯到热力学中的“可逆与不可逆过程”，它们的定义为：一个系统，由某一状态出发，经过某一过程达到另一状态，如果存在另一过程，它能使系统和外界完全复原（即系统回到原来的状态，同时消除了原来过程对外界引起的一切影响），则原来的过程称为可逆过程。反之，如果用任何方法都不可能使系统和外界完全复原，则称为不可逆过程(李椿等，1987：207)。
