莫高窟第79窟唐代修建，五代时期重修。西壁龛内有盛唐彩塑一佛、二弟子、四菩萨、两天王。

Mogao Cave 79 was built during the Tang Dynasty and was renovated during the Five Dynasties. In the niche of its western wall are painted statues constructed during the High Tang period, featuring a Buddha, two disciples, four Bodhisattvas and two Heavenly Kings .
