定义

福特之所以能够大量生产便宜实用的汽车，是因为他引进了一种崭新的生产方式。福特将汽车的制造过程简单化，让每个工人守住自己的岗位，进行单一的重复劳动，也就是将劳动过程细分为各种工种。1913年，福特第一次将流水线引入汽车生产过程。工人站在原地不动，自动流水线将零部件输送到每个工人的操作岗位上。由于省去了生产劳动中不必要的环节，生产速度大大提高，制造成本也随之大幅度降低。这就是福特降低汽车价格的奥秘所在。后人将福特的这种生产方式命名为“福特主义”（金贤洙等，2014：48）。福特主义一词最早起源于安东尼奥·葛兰西，他使用“福特主义”来描述一种基于美国方式的新的工业生活模式，它是指以市场为导向，以分工和专业化为基础，以较低产品价格作为竞争手段的刚性生产模式。按照调节学派的观点，福特主义关键性的基础是从一种粗放型的资本积累战略，向一种以泰勒制劳动组织和大规模生产消费性商品为特征的密集型资本积累战略的过渡。20世纪90年代以来，西方学者相继提出了新福特主义、后福特主义等对发达资本主义国家现实发展的最新描述与概括。这些新概念不仅逐渐被引入经济学各分支学科如地理(空间)经济学、国际经济学、产业经济学、管理经济学、新政治经济学等，而且也渗入到社会科学的其他学科如政治学、社会学和教育学等领域（福特主义.via：http://baike.baidu.com/item/%E7%A6%8F%E7%89%B9%E4%B8%BB%E4%B9%89）。
