以火焰的形象绘制的图案纹样。在敦煌壁画中，多出现于佛像的背光、光头、窟顶的平棋图案和人字坡上，佛龛龛楣上等。

A flame pattern is a pattern in the shape of a flame. In the Dunhuang murals, it frequently appears in the nimbus and light source of a Buddha statue; sometimes in the flat ceiling and gable ceiling of the cave itself as well as in Buddhism niche lintels.
