On Essential Buddhahood (Dharmakaya): To the Tune of Shi Er Shi

唐人曲词，作者不详。共十二首，皆三、七、七、七句式。词写锱徒初出家，剃发修持，以求六根清净。

A group of 12 lyric poems from the Tang Dynasty, with the authors unidentified. All of them are featured by a “3-7-7-7” sentence pattern. The poems mainly depict how a novice is initiated into monkhood and after the tonsure ritual devotes himself to cultivation, in order to be freed from suffering from the six sense bases (āyatana).
