定义

《重建历史唯物主义》由德国哲学家哈贝马斯所著，是其学术历程中第二个阶段的代表作之一，由法兰克福祖尔坎普出版社于1976年出版。全书分为“哲学前景”、“同一性”、“进化”、“合法性”四部分,有“哲学在马克思主义中的作用”、“历史与进化”、“现代国家中的合法性问题”、“何谓今日之危机？”等12篇论文（金炳华，2003：1068）。此时期的哈贝马斯开始转向批判理论的深化和系统化，形成了一套以交往理论为框架的社会进化理论，并且提出了重建历史唯物主义的设想。哈贝马斯认为，迄今为止，任何一种社会理论，无论是历史唯物主义还是社会学的其他理论都不能全面解释社会进化或者提出社会进化的构思。它们只能说明某一社会现象领域。因此，哈贝马斯提出，历史唯物主义要想成为一种富有生命力的普遍的社会进化理论和达到它原来所确立的目标，就必须重建。《重建历史唯物主义》向我们提出了许多值得重视和研究的观点。这些观点对于我们了解、认识当代新马克思主义的特点无疑是非常有价值的（重建历史唯物主义.via：http://baike.baidu.com/link?url=vsBHjHBDzuMP3Op9SN9IsoA-vGAALxyWGT9pYGvtBja3vedxq2FXsIYEjA6eyW0tzyQnQlYdlOoPYPH2tb_UnK）。
