定义

无阶级社会是与生产资料公有制相联系的，不存在阶级和阶级对立的社会。与“阶级社会”相对，主要是包括两种社会形态：原始社会和共产主义社会。（1）原始社会，又称“原始共产主义社会”，它标志着人类社会历史发展的第一个基本阶段，是最早出现的一个基本的社会形态。原始社会的人类生产力水平很低，人们必须联合起来共同劳动，没有剩余的劳动产品。与这种生产力相适应，人们只有共同占有生产资料，人与人的关系是平等的，大家平均分配劳动产品，没有阶级和阶级剥削，实行生产资料公有制。在这种生产关系基础上建立起来的上层建筑，没有庞大的国家机器，没有军队、警察、法庭、监狱、政府部门，也没有法律；没有剥削阶级的意识形态，没有私有观念，人们普遍存在着的是朴素的集体主义观念。共产主义社会，是以共产主义生产方式为基础的社会。它标志着人类社会历史发展的最后一个基本阶段，是人类历史上最理想、最美好、最进步的社会形态；（2）共产主义社会，是通过社会主义社会生产力和生产关系、经济基础和上层建筑矛盾运动的长期发展而实现的。共产主义的本质是消灭私有制（潘国华，1992：544）。在共产主义社会，生产力水平高度发达，社会物质产品极大丰富，能够满足全体社会成员全面发展的需要。与这种高度发展的生产力相适应的是共产主义的生产关系，以生产资料公有制为基础，人与人之间建立的是高度平等的互助合作关系，劳动成为人们生活的第一需要，全体社会成员各尽所能地为社会劳动，个人消费品实行按需分配。在这种生产关系基础上建立起来的上层建筑，没有国家机器，没有阶级的意识形态。共产主义思想成为全体社会成员的共同思想，大家都具有高度的共产主义觉悟和共产主义道德。在共产主义社会，工农之间、城乡之间、体力劳动者和脑力劳动者之间的差别，以及商品货币关系等，都已不存在，阶级已经消灭，国家已经消亡，民族差别也会消失。建设高度的社会主义物质文明和精神文明，是由社会主义社会过渡到共产主义社会的根本途径。对于我国来说，建设有中国特色的社会主义，是实现共产主义社会的必经阶段。
