壁画中佛教供具及帝王仪仗物之一，幡头为三角形，幡身由数块丝织物连缀成长条，幡尾呈燕尾形，悬于竿上，由仙人、飞天或宫廷奴仆持执作为出行仪仗之一，以表示佛和帝王的庄严、威德。

Fan (Ceremonial Banner): used in Buddhist or royal processions in ancient times. With a triangular top, the banner consists of several fabric pieces linked together with a swallowtail end. Hanging on a long pole, it is often carried by a celestial being, an apsara, or a royal servant as a ceremonial implement during a procession, to convey the dignity and virtue of the Buddha or an emperor.
