Painting of Prayer Bead-Bestowing Avalokitsvara: a masterpiece of Bodhisattva paintings, in which Avalokitesvara (Guanyin Bodhisattva) stands on a lotus pedestal, looking down from above at a female devotee, and extending one arm with two fingers holding up a string of Buddhist prayer beads to bestow upon her. The female, who is making offerings by burning incense in a burner, looks up at the Bodhisattva and stretches out two hands to respectfully receive the beads. The two figures look directly at each other, symbolizing the interaction between deities in heaven and people in the mortal world in a harmonious and cordial way.
