定义

尊重劳动、尊重知识、尊重人才、尊重创造，简称“四个尊重”，是中国共产党治国理政的一项重大方针，是马克思主义“劳动创造一切”的观点的延伸与发展，是邓小平倡导的“尊重知识、尊重人才”思想的丰富和发展。2002年11月中共十六大报告第一次系统提出。其中，尊重劳动是基础和根本。尊重知识、尊重人才、尊重创造，与尊重劳动具有内在的、本质上的一致性，是尊重劳动的必然要求，尤其是现代社会劳动的必然要求。因为劳动贵在创造，没有创造，劳动只能是简单的重复。尊重劳动和尊重创造，离不开尊重知识和尊重人才（奚洁人，2007：263）。党的十七大将“四个尊重”的重大方针郑重地写入党章。人民群众是历史的创造者，要充分发挥最广大人民群众推动社会主义和谐发展的主题动力作用，必须全面贯彻“尊重劳动、尊重知识、尊重人才、尊重创造”的方针。“四个尊重”是一个以尊重劳动为核心的相互联系、相互依存、辩证统一的有机整体，其实质是充分发挥全体社会主义劳动者和建设者的积极性，调动主体一切积极因素，不断增强全社会创造活力，推动社会主义和谐发展，最终形成一个全体人民各尽其能、各得其所而又和谐相处的局面（黄红发，2012：43）。《中共中央关于加强党的执政能力建设的决定》指出：全面贯彻尊重劳动、尊重知识、尊重人才、尊重创造的方针，不断增强全社会的创造活力。这对引领社会风尚的主流价值导向，进一步领导和团结全国各族人民，调动一切积极因素，全面建设小康社会，构建社会主义和谐社会，具有极为重大的意义（尊重劳动、尊重知识、尊重人才、尊重创造.via：http://baike.baidu.com/view/3165276.htm）。
