定义

善良意志，德国古典唯心主义哲学家康德在伦理学上的用语。主要是指不计实际效果，完全本着道德律令进行行动而并没有任何自身的欲望参杂，是一种最高的道德意识。康德认为，实践理性产生一种善良意志，而作为道德律根源的实践理性并不是在某种认识意义上的原理、法则，反而表现为人们道德活动中的意志，表现为一种道德实践的能力。所以，善良意志不是达到有条件目的的手段意志，不会从社会功利出发，不具有社会性，而是无条件的、先天的，一切善的必要前提。善良意志是对一切人均有效的，隶属于客观的道德规律。康德认为“意志可分为神的意志与人的意志，神的意志与道德规律根本一致，而人的意志则与道德规律不相一致，所以善良意志要以‘命令’或‘应该’的方式使两者一致”（朱贻庭，2002：647）。康德认为，在世界之中或者世界之外，只有善良意志才是一个无条件的善。善良意志应该作为人们行为的唯一出发点，对于任何的个人感情、欲望和要求都是不应该的，人们如果只有聪明、才智、勇敢等品性却没有善的意志，那么就有可能转向恶，同样，财富、权力、荣誉、健康，如果没有善的意志，也会成为祸害。善的价值在于它本身而不是因为它的工作成就或达到的结果。善良意志是评价行为善恶与否的唯一标准。只有出于善良意志的行为才可能会有崇尚的道德价值，而仅仅出于爱好、欲望、利益考虑的，即使取得了好的结果，也根本毫无道德价值可言。总之，“康德的伦理学把‘善良意志’规定为普遍的道德规范，或‘普遍的立法原则’”（徐少锦，温克勤,1999：1048）。
