后凉骨尺【英】

Houliang Ruler Made of Animal Bone

敦煌出土遗物。量器。后凉麟嘉八年（396）造。尺长24.2厘米，宽2厘米，厚0.2厘米。正面等分十寸，每寸上下刻两个圆圈，一端有孔。推算此尺长度与西晋时一致，即当时敦煌仍行使晋的度量衡制度。

It is an unearthed relic found in Dunhuang. It is a measuring tool made in the 8th year of Linjia (396 AD) in the Houliang Dynasty. The length of the ruler is 24.2cm, it is 2 cm in width with a thickness of 0.2cm The front facing side is evenly divided into 10 cun (now 1 cun≈3.33 cm). Two circles from top to bottom are curved between each cun, and one end of the ruler has a hole. It can be estimated that the lengths on the ruler are consistent with those used in the Western Jin Dynasty. It means at that time, Dunhuang followed the system of weights and measures launched by the Western Jin authority.
