定义

列宁用语。指在事物普遍联系的链条中对发展有决定意义的特殊环节。最早在《怎么办》一书中提出。认为必须善于在每个时机找出链条上的一个特殊环节，并全力抓住它以便抓住整个链条并稳稳地准备过渡到下一个环节。如在国内战争和外国武装干涉时期，主要环节是动员全部力量去进行革命战争;转入和平建设轨道时期，主要环节就是掌握商业。指出在历史事变发展的链条里，各个环节的次序、形式、关联、区别，都是非常复杂的，强调必须以研究社会发展的客观规律为准绳。主要环节这一概念既揭示了事物普遍联系中个别、特殊和一般的关系，部分和整体、局部和全局的关系，又揭示了客观辩证法与主观辩证法的关系。有些学者认为列宁这个概念同毛泽东提出的主要矛盾概念是相通的，毛泽东在《关于领导方法的若干问题》中所说的中心工作，实际上就是主要环节，两者都是指主要矛盾。（金炳华，2003：723）
