定义

价值观是基于人的一定的思维感官之上而作出的认知、理解、判断或抉择，也就是人认定事物、辨别是非的一种思维或取向。在阶级社会中，不同阶级有不同的价值观念。价值观具有稳定性和持久性、历史性与选择性、主观性的特点。具体体现在：首先，稳定性和持久性。在特定的时间、地点、条件下，人们的价值观总是相对稳定和持久的。比如，对某种人或事物的好坏总有一个看法和评价，在条件不变的情况下这种看法不会改变。其次，历史性与选择性。在不同时代、不同社会生活环境中形成的价值观是不同的。一个人的价值观是从出生开始，在家庭和社会的影响下，逐步形成的。一个人所处的社会生产方式及其所处的经济地位，对其价值观的形成有决定性的影响。再次，主观性。价值观是根据个人内心的尺度进行衡量和评价的。“人的价值观形成有两个前提条件：一个是主体不断发展的需要，另一个是主体发展过程中的自我意识。主体的需要，成就了事物的价值，这是价值观念形成的客观前提。不同的主体有不同的需要，也产生了不同的价值观念，形成价值观念的多样化与多元化”（袁贵仁，2006：131）。价值观对人们自身行为的定向和调节起着非常重要的作用。价值观决定人的自我认识，它直接影响和决定一个人的理想、信念、生活目标和追求方向的性质。
